Original sentences with present tense -ar, -er, -ir verbs (regular verbs only)
Add the correct present tense ending to each verb. Then, add 5-6 words to create an original sentence. Sentences must be 7 words minimum. Post the word count at the end of every sentence.
Students will write a total of 18 sentences
Verbs included:
-AR: hablar, bailar, ayudar, buscar, practicar, mirar
-ER: aprender, comer, vender, comprender, correr, leer
-IR: vivir, abrir, recibir, escribir, asistir, partir

Stem change verbs original sentences (no collaboration or on-line translators)
For each stem change type, write the stem change (e-ie , e-i, o-ue) where needed or the present tense ending for nosotros and vosotros and then add 5-6 words to create an original sentence. Sentences must be 7 words minimum. Post the word count at the end of every sentence. Sentences cannot be repetitive (using the same words over and over).
There are 6 sentences per stem change type (e-ie / u-ue, e-i, o-ue) for a total of 18 sentences

E-IE: querer, empezar, pensar, preferir, mentir, perder
U:UE: jugar
E-I: pedir, servir, repetir, decir, competir, seguir

Practice: Present subjunctive
For each set of sentences, choose the correct present subjunctive verb and then add 3-4 words or more to expand on the sentence.
There are 15 sentences total. Answer key is included with the verb only.

This practice can be used as students are being introduced to the subjunctive.
Students will complete sentences and create original sentences with the present subjunctive as they are being introduced to the topic.

Part 1: Complete the first two columns by adding a different subject (person) from the one provided in the change of subject column and conjugating the introductory verb in the present tense from the list below. (10 sentences total)

Create original information questions with -go verbs and answer them. Use the template provided to write your questions and answers. You will write 2 questions per verb. Imagine that you are Marcos Sánchez, an environmentalist, holding a meeting where people of the town are voicing concerns on various environmental issues. They want to know the cause of the issue and a solution.
Write the cause of the situation in the present tense. For the solution, answer with a different introductory verb (present tense) and a different present subjunctive verb. For the subject you can use la gente, las personas, las familias, el gobierno, el alcalde, los empleados, los jefes, los dueños etc.

A structured practice with answering questions using tener que + infinitive
Part 1: Answer 8 questions first with a yes and then with a no using complete sentences. A template is provided for students to write their answers. Answer key is included.
